Suddenly, on 271, I could acutely feel beneath my foot the accelerator, and the hum of the engine as it pushed me up the bridge at ninety mph, and the sun came out from behind light cloud cover, and I looked to the west and saw people skiing on the slope, and with Coulton on the stereo, driving home to my dearest, my heart fairly cracked in my chest from the sheer heat of my adoration for the world, for life.

Today I need to bake a pot pie and a roll cake for the girlface’s birthday. Tonight will be tasties and gifts and games and yes.
Tomorrow, originally I thought the parents would be visiting, but we decided to postpone to next weekend.
I have not exactly been melancholy lately, but I would really appreciate winter packing its bags and getting the hell out, already.
I apologize for the lack of updates lately. What can I say? The other day someone at work posited that there could be no such thing as positive, uplifting existentialism, and I didn’t have the energy at the same to really get into a discussion about it with him.
I dunno. I think that’s a truckload of hooey.

Mmm.
Wish I were still at home today, but alas, I was able to get out of my side-street, despite the snow.
This weekend was pleasant, but it had an unexpected bonus when I scared the living hell out of a two-year-old.
Friday night we spent over at the Raineys’, playing Catan (victors={me,mindy}) and drinking and snacking. Maddy was ridiculously adorable, although I could tell she was getting on Chris’s last few nerves with specific noises. Overall it was a good time.
Sunday there was curling (which we won, and wherein I made maybe 85% of my shots). Also Becca rearranged some stuff upstairs and now we have an extra room for stuff, which is groovy.
Monday, I took as vacation and played a lot of videogames as I watched Gattaca and Doubt. I maintain my general distaste for Streep and adoration for Hoffman.
I also read maybe half of The Road. More on that later, likely.
Now if we could just get rid of this snow…

2010 is off to a nice start when an album is released where I earnestly dig at least nine of fifteen tracks.

This week has been a long one, thanks to the damned snowfall. Seems like every evening was a Friday, with the potential for bad weather and subsequent snow days that never happened. The result is that I am completely useless here, today.
This evening, we are all set to play some Catan, but I’m not sure what after that. I’m also uncertain what we’re doing for dinner. Maybe I’ll pick up some Indian food on the way. WHO KNOWS!?
Yeah, Mr. Crazy Excitement is me.
Really though, I fully expect this weekend to be one of quotidian comfort and decompression. So there.
