Monday!

This weekend was so ridiculously low-key that I will mention only that it involved margaritas Friday, and cherry pie Sunday, and nothing much of note in between.

BILL: Not only are you not dead, you’re getting married to some fucking jerk, and you’re pregnant. I overreacted.

I already posted some pics of this, but this year’s Blues & Brews festival at Stan Hywet was a good time in near-perfect weather. Our lab book got filled up with fourteen brews tasted over the couple hours we were there (down from 17ish two years ago, but I didn’t want to get sloshed). Top honors for our tasting this time round was the Limited Edition Sour Gatekeeper by the Indigo Imp brewing company of Cleveland. It was unlike anything else I’d tried but it was refreshingly crisp and complex. Easily the worst performer this year was Ohio Brewing Co’s Smokin’ Scotch Ale. I like scotch ales, but this tasted like either a bottle of liquid smoke or the ashtrays from a bar (haha just kidding, Akron! you can’t smoke in bars) had been dumped into it. It was awful.

But the music was fun and the gardens were beautiful and the brews were on the whole tasty, and it was a good time, overall.

So there.
